Forget it. For that kind of money I would buy a 3Watt Tesco LED torch and use the inner tube trick (search forums) to secure on handlebars.

If you just want to be seen, this would probably be fine. To see by, you would need something a lot more powerful, the Tesco torches are indeed excellent. The only drawback to using them regularly is that their battery life is relatively limited. After 1-2 hours on good quality nimh cells they go into a low power mode where you are visible but where the output is not sufficient to illuminate the road.

As MM says, the question is whether you want your front light to see by or just to be seen. If the latter (true of city riders) it'll probably be fine. (I have a £5 ebay front light - tho' not this one - that's served me very well for two years now.) Only thing to watch out for is, the brackets are usually the weak link in cheap lights. Best thing to do, get it in position then add Araldite.
