My old bike has 52 and 42 teeth on front chainrings and 13-28 on cassette.

Will my new bike with 50 and 34 teeth on chainrings and 11-28 on cassette be easier to pedal up hills?
I'm guessing it will but knowing nothing at all about gearing I thought I'd ask the experts.

Thanks

Yes it will, substantially so. Your lowest gear is now 34-28 not 42-28. If you want to do the maths - check here Sheldon Brown

Yes. Your new bike has what's called a compact double chainset rather then a standard double chainset on your old bike.
