there is a line of racing bikes for nippers which are very occassionally available. They have 20" wheels, typically tubs. 12" or so frames, Italian made, various brands inc. Condor, colnago, Bianchi...

If you see one, please please let me know. I know a girl who could make one look very good.

Not exactly. Her older brother always had nice bikes from new, 'cos he was first. I'd like her to have something (affordable) that is hers and wasn't his first.

I don't want her to think she doesn't get a new bike just 'cos she isn't like him.

In some ways, her efforts are more important, 'cos she has to try to make it happen.

Most important, I want her to like a nice bike. Whether it's fast, slow, or in a museum, they are nice things.
