...and what a luscious bit of music it is. I sang in it about twenty years ago and have not heard it since. The thing is: I could remember almost every single detail.

It certainly is that. I played in the orchestra for it recently for no fee but got offered another paid gig the same day, however the organiser wouldn't let me drop out of it. Not doing that again.
