As part of a holocaust memorial day event (or preparation, to be more precise) I will be doing most of the Dun Run, but in reverse. We will be starting in Ipswich and travelling to London Fields.

My brother-in-law (Mark Curtis) is an extreme marathon runner and will be running the entire route. He's no slouch either, last year he beat the current world champion and came third in the Kalahari Augrabies Extreme Marathon, which is a 250km race through a desert. Participants have to carry their own food, tent and all supplies except water!

The original plan was to complete the run in one stint, but Mark's coach has advised him against it. He could absolutely do it, but the recovery time would set up back his progress towards a bigger goal he has. So we're looking for somewhere to stay overnight about halfway, does anyone have any good recommendations?

I'm accompanying Mark because we're filming a documentary about his journey to Team GB. We've 'leaked' the first draft episode on YouTube if you'd like to know more -

Mark's average speed is 14kph, so my biggest concern is that I'm going to get cold cycling that slowly!

My biggest concern would be getting a stiff neck from looking where I'm going when cycling in reverse. I'm guessing you're riding a fixie then? ;)

Best wishes and sorry I don't know anywhere to stay which I guess will be the Great Dunmow sort of area? A quick search suggested http://puttocksfarm.moonfruit.com/ which might at least mean you start the day on country roads rather than in town traffic.
