Don't know if anybody else has or had this but I get a dull ache on the outside edge of my right foot about an inch behind my little toe. Sometimes it's really quite bad and others I don't get it at all! Tried moving cleat around and also gone from spd to spd-sl to try and stop it to no avail. Getting it more often than not and it's starting to bug me....... Any ideas?

Shoes more than likely don't fit your foot. Try thinner socks then new shoes.

I can't ride specialized shoes for this reason. Simply wrong shape

Had specialized mtb spd shoes that were relatively wide, now have mavic spd-sl on look keo classic 2 pedals. Shoes feel a bit narrower but in no way cramped and get the feeling less with them too, although when I do get it is exactly the same feeling, normally towards the beginning of a ride and then it will fade off.

Have you had your pronation checked? Perhaps you need orthotics

I had exactly the same pain last week. It was on the same pedals as usual, the same shoes as usual, same socks, bike, distance, effort and so on as usual. Went out today and had no problem. Go figure...

OP did you get this sorted? I have a similar pain sometimes in both feet, though predominantly the left foot. I've a feeling its something called forefoot varsus or supination. If so then cleat shims might be the answer. Though how big the shims need to be I haven't a clue.

id say shoes i had the same near the end of the life of my old shoes in the exact spot, it went away when buying a new pair of shoes  you can also buy those memory foam soles for a pound and slide them in if you want to pad it out temporarily

No, not got it fixed. Sometimes it's worse than others. If I make a conscious effort to tilt/push with the inside of my foot it does seem to relieve it a bit. Shoes are new by the way, now look keo classic 2 with mavic shoes, was the same pain when I had specialized spd mtb shoes, maybe shimming is required. Don't trust the shop I got the gear from though, just tell you what you want to hear and don't give real advice. Anybody know of anyone trustworthy I could talk to and possibly mail order from?
