Dubrovnik into Bosnia - tips?

Hi
I am heading to Dubrovnik. I am thinking of hiring a bike while I am there. Interested in heading over to Bosnia on a day out - so back same day.
Is that a daft idea or would it be worth it? Happy to receive tips and wisdom.

Crossing the Croatia-Montenegro border a few years ago took over an hour and that was leaving the EU rather than entering it and I doubt things have got any easier. I think you'd need to really really want to see Bosnia and leave plenty of time, but ultimately I've not tried that border.
