Hi, just to sat that my wife and myself have just returned from Southwater to Henfield.She hasn,t been on a bike for over 35 years and just fancied a nice easy bike ride.Had a superb afternoon and done a total of 15 miles.Also would recomend this route to any beginner as its mostly flat with a few nice pubs on the way.
Going to give it another go next week if the weather is o.k

That sounds like you had a good time. keep it up you will soon be doing 60 / 70 miles a day just the same as so many on here.

Did Guildford-Brighton-Guildford a few weeks ago (88 miles) - really cracking ride. Good surface, mainly flat with only one serious hill away from the rail route and the overhanging trees provide shade
