Download GPX routes - Spain ( but no map on Garmin 800)

I am going to Marbella .
Can anyone tell me if I can download a GPX route to my Garmin 800 without having a map,loaded of Spain.
I'm only going for four days and might sound cheap but don't want to fork out money buying the o/s map of Spain .

Can it be done ?

Any help much appreciated

You could put on the OSM maps which are free, have a look on talkytoaster.com

I use the free UK OSM maps on my 800 and I think they are pretty good.

You can download the route and use it but it won't give you the road turning warnings.

I did exactly this last week when on holiday in Lanzarote. I could follow the route fine from seeing the line on the screen. However, there aren't that many roads in Lanzarote so it was quite easy. The Garmin will alert you if you go off course which helps.

Oh great thanks for that - the route looks pretty straight forward not too many turn offs ( ha ha how many times have I look at a sportive route and thought exactly the same !! ) . Keep yr eyes on the news for lost cyclist in mountains surrounding Marbella next week !

Thanks for the info but I already have the Garmin British Isles OSM sd card - I need the Spanish equivalent

Is that available anywhere then
