Full of pain killers and anti bio's at the mo.And feeling a little down. The boy's are 30 miles from finishing Lejog,Vernon in our street told me in a short space of time just some of his wonderful journey's.BT NOT FB has posted some brill piccies of Germany. And Cathryn with her wonderful write up's.And the rest of you.I have been nowhere.Longest ride many years ago 108 miles.Done many GREAT YORKSHIRE BIKE RIDES.nd we do 30 -45 regular through the week. But always to the same damn places.Dueto time restrictions school run.So am i a real cyclist.I would love just to have a blast once in a while and get away from this housework and Mrs Doubtfire role i have.So part of my training for 2010.I am going to join the YHA.And get some weekends away .First one Leeds to Buckden with the lads group from church. And have found a YHA near Scarborough. That can be sat morning sun afternoon ride.I think the lejog has brought this on not being able to go due to school hols.

I thought you were retired....or are you one of the army of 'grand parent child carers'.....

Lucky kids...you are a gem !

My folks won't do that...despite being both retired - have stuff to do, can't even get the odd hour or so...... maybe once in a blue moon and the MIL is far to ill to have our kids........ boo hoo !

Yes 58 and retired. The children are mine 12 and 10 in age.2nd marriage.Don't worry about the moan on the post.Just had a whinge. All next week i will be 'free' girls are going to grandparents for a little break.I do loads of vol work including a mum's and toddlers group and some cooking for pensioners. And i will be part of a catering team for Gilling Castle 60 kids on a Scripture Union chuchie holiday. When i typed that post i was a little down now it's passed .Just had another anti bio and some pain killers.Sadly no red wine tonight.

Sounds like a first class post to me - full of admiration for the efforts of others and developing a plan of your own. Let your days be like the sea washing over a sandy beach...no matter what has happened, everything is evened out ready for the next day.

And. I'll drink another bottle of red - just for you postie

Thanks all of you.I had a really early night last night. But did not sleep well due to this ear ache.I think it must have been the pills i have been poppin that made me a bit grumpy.Going to have a quiet weekend. Then hell or high water going out to Otley monday morning. To order a new Polo shirt.Just to get me in the mood for my Lejog 2010.Have found a place that make special polo or t-shirts.Get this.Mine is going to be yellow.with a cyclist motif and the words underneath.Lejog 2010.How is that for motivation.

Sounds like a plan Postman. Hang in there. Maybe you should be aiming for the 2010 TdF instead with your yellow jersey!

I've ridden with you, and I reckon you're a real cyclist. Setting a realistic but challenging target is a really good way to get your cycling mojo back up and running. LeJog awaits...
