Hi Folks,
Is there anyone out there who has either; (i) had problems with the paint finish on their Dolan bike or (ii) knows of any individuals who have?
I bought myself a new Dolan Tuono (standard white and blue finish) in Feb 2011 and despite being a sweet ride, I have had problems with the paintwork finish. The first time was when the bike was hitched up to a Saris Bones (soft touch) bike rack on a 70 mile journey, when I removed the bike the paint work had blistered up at the touching points on the frame.
The bike was returned to where I bought it from and the technical team agreed that it was as if the paint work had not cured properly on the fame, hence the damage to the paintwork. Additionally it was also felt that the paint had been moving and thus had caused friction damage. The bike was sent back to Dolan and the bike was rebuilt with a brand new frame, without any quibble from the manufacturer.
Unfortunately today I have noticed some discolouring on the forks - there is an area of paint which is not looking brilliant white, more a kind of "tea stain" and when I press the paint with my finger nail it leaves an imprint. (I have been out 3 x times on this new frame).
All starting to get rather frustrating now and will be back to the bike shop this week.
Thoughts any one, or indeed any similar stories or advice?
Cheers,
BT
