Fingers crossed for weather. Some of the descents wouldnt be fun in wet and windy conditions.

The route is on the Dragon Website but basically it is Pencoed -Llantwit Major-Porthcawl- Port Talbot -Up the Afan Valley over Bwlch - Down into Treorchy-over Rhigos Mountain to Rhigos- Across to the intervalley road out to Abercraf South to Neath over Bwlch again turn right at top of Bwlch then down Ogmore Valley through Nantymoel etc bit of a loop around Llangeinor back across bryncethin/Heol Y cyw common to Pencoed.

This year you do the Bwlch twice but from west to east both times.
Sounds easy

After a good forecast all week the met office are now saying a possibility of heavy rain in South Wales tommorow  ,at least the winds should be light.

If it is I will probably switch to the medio 120 km route instead of the 200 .I would be relying on fast descents to keep the speed average up and dont want to be riding too hard down wet roads.

The weather forecast could all change by tommorow ,hopefully for the better. Fingers crossed.

Light winds be buggered!

At 5:45 when I was riding in , as I turned onto the dual carriageway at Coychurch it felt as if I had been hit by a sledgehammer.

Fortunately when I got off at 945 the winds were fine, no problems with crosswinds at all - a worry when using 46mm rims. I kept the hammer down all the way round. The only thing to slow me down was the heavy shower coming off the Bwlch - but only on the bends!

I did see you - twice in fact - but both times I was moving too fast to stop or shout "LittleYellowBrompton!" at you.....

Thanks for a super day.
