Dogcam 720HD- good camera?

After this mornings incident I've decided I'm joining the ranks of the camera cyclist. At least that way if someone cuts me up and my cam isn't on it's my own fault!!

Is this a good starting camera, given that I'll only use it for monitoring my journeys to/from work?
Is the wide angle version worth the extra £40 given that I will be helmet mounting it?

Wide angle lenses are well worth the extra money.
Your best option is to watch videos produced by the camera, and see how it compares to other cameras.
