Dodgy neck

Team, feel like I'm falling apart lately.

I have this recurring neck problem which spontaneously pops up every 6 or 8 months and which lasts 1, sometimes 2 days. It's an acute pain to the rear of my neck extending from my skull, down the rear (but slightly to the left of) my spine and ending behind my left shoulder.

Sod's law, I've woken up with it today and it hurts like billy-O.

Any ideas of cause or cure?

i do and it was my head rotation causing the pain. better pillows have eliminated it

I sleep weird sometimes and do things to my neck. No idea how to stop it though apart from never sleeping again.

Decent pillows that properly support and prevent shoulder collapse. Works for me

I hate sleeping with pillows being weird and all. It normally only happens once or twice a year after going to bed drunk and thrashing around. I can live with that.

That'll be why your neck hurts then. Watch it as you get older, you could do serious damage in the long term

I prefer to clip in to my bed

I find staring at my imaginary cycling buddy helps the neck pain go away

At the risk of invoking moderation. Wind it in perhaps??

Did you do anything different prior to going to bed that night? Sounds indicative of a pillow issue but I'm also thinking if it's sporadic then perhaps that isn't the answer.

Not to go to bed with! At least not very often.
