Do Evans Cycles always take ages to process refunds?

I now have two orders that I returned to Evans for refunds - I contacted them two weeks ago and they confirmed that they had received the items back and that they would be processed for refund but still no money weeks later. I paid with paypal so the transfer would be instant once they actually do it!

Totally put me off ordering with them again.

More concerning now, Evans Cycles told me that they refunded the money 2 weeks ago which is total rubbish. This is either a genuine mistake or very worrying from a big company or a fault with the paypal system - be warned either way!

Companies now have 28 days to process refunds.

I've had numerous instances where they hang on to your money until the last minute to earn that extra bit of interest.

I have emailed balint@evans so let's see what happens now. I can't believe I've had no further replies from the normal Evans Customer services dispite being very polite to them. I'm now being ignored!

They say I've had the refund BUT I haven't! What should I do next? I've looked at paypal disputes and there is no information for a case like this. If you look at my paypal account it's plain to see that the money was never refunded.

Your bank or card provider may be able to issue a chargeback, where they take the money from Evans.

You'd have to contact your bank for that.

but I paid using Paypal instant transfer not a credit or debit card?

Paypal have been very efficient and I've already won my claim against Evans Cycles and been given my money back.

Evans website states "easy returns" --- bull$hit!

I had to claim through paypal to get my money refunded!

I sent some shorts back for an exchange, took me 6 weeks to get anywhere but they did give me a refund.

I'll be sticking with companies that have decent customer service. I.e. nearly every other online retailer.
