Do CTC / Russell Jones & Walker pass on info to 3rd parties?

After my collision last week, reported to the police and to CTC accident line and had a brief chat with the CTC solicitors...

Just had a text message from a number which doesn't bring up any sensible results in google saying "our records indicate you may be entitled to £3750 for the accident you had. To apply free reply CLAIM to this message. To opt out text STOP"

I'm sure this wouldbn't come from CTC or RJ&W and they would call me if they wanted to communicate

Which brings up the question "who is this and how do then know my details and that I was involved in an accident?"

Anyone else been involved in an accident had similar?

I'd show you my phone with the same text but I delete them whenever they arrive.

Coincidentally, that's pretty much the exact amount of compensation that we got when some moton pulled across the road in front of Mrs Norm nearly 3 years ago. I still delete them, though and I'd say it's nothing to do with CTC.

Ah, perhaps mere coincidence that it was just after an accident?

I never respond to anything that asks me to text codes etc anyway, they are always dodgy.

The timing of it just seemed odd

Coincidence for sure.
I have had calls telling me that 'their records show that I had a an accident etc. etc. and they can help me claim etc. etc.' when I never had.
When pushed they never gave me their company name as I wanted to report them to the TPS, who insist they need a company name.

TPS=Toothless Preference Service imho.

I was knocked off my bicycle late last year and needed an ambulance.

The police also attended.

I gave both policeman and ambulance crew my mobile number.

I advised the car driver (who admitted 100% liability and was very sweet) that I'd be making a claim, but didn't give her my mobile number.

24 hours later I received a text: "You could claim significant payments for your injury.. Text CLAIM to this number" or some such similar.

I hold the litigation culture in contempt, so I just claimed for damage to watch and bike. I deleted the text.

I've always wondered who on Earth knew that I'd been hurt and could have passed on my details. Surely not the ambulance crew or the copper?

I'll never know.

I received the exact same message last week myself ... and no I didn't have an accident and it isn't the first time I've had that message before either.... I just delete. If I wanted to pursue a claim I'd chose who represented me.

I've had the same text twice in the last couple of weeks. Never had a proper 'accident' ever. Must be coincidence - these people must be spamming random numbers at the moment.

i got them too, had a word with the solicitor at RJW as the number was scarily close to the first offer we had just rejected. she said she get them all the time too.

my wife had skiing accident, and received one. only possible source of mobile number was the insurance company who flew he back
