Is anyone else on here doing this on Saturday, besides myself and Roubaix Murry? We've decided we don't want to embarrass the potential front runners in the 100 mile event and have gone for the 54 mile instead
If you are, look for a 6ft 5in-tall bloke on a grey-coloured Tifosi and a (slightly) shorter but considerably better-looking one on a Spesh Roubaix Comp, probably close to death somewhere around the 30-mile mark

Yes - look in the other thread in this section.

I'll be on my Spesh Allez 16, wearing a cycle chat jersey (if weather is OK). I'll be only 6ft, and hanging around with probably the only Japanese guy there, who will be on a BMC.

I've gone for the 54 miles, as I have an appointment with Tigers Vs Gloucester at Welford Road in the afternoon. Hoping to break the 3 hour mark. And be voted the most attractive person there. Will fail at both, but hopefully be closer to achieving one than the other.

Well, enjoyed that, although the hills came thick and fast in the last few miles and my legs weren't thanking me at all by the time I got back. Hopefully Rutland CC can get them flattened for next year!!

Enjoyed the home-made flapjack at the feed station, weather was perfect - blue skies, hardly any wind, and they managed to get a road opened especially for us - so for one short section we were the only people on the tarmac too!

Managed to bump into Browser and Roubaix Murray on the way round too, and saw them at the end - great double act!

Just about to go onto the web page and find out how well I did, so look out for the embarrassed smilie in my next post....
