Just measured my Shimano disc at .063" as 1.5mm comes in at .059' the minimum according to Shimano I assume it is prudent to change them before a week long tour in Flanders.

Pads are fine, just gave them a rub on some fine emery and squirted with brake clean.

How much further will they go? I assume Shimano err on the side of caution.
How thick are they new?

You assume correctly, imo.

How many miles have you done? Divide the thinkness by distance and multiply by the remaining thickness will give you remaining miles I think?!🤔

The rear is still at 70 thou with no scoring, so I'll just change the front. The bike has been through three winters, two French tours and several short UK tours.

I'm sure I've got my moneys worth.
