About to take the plunge and buy a Boardman CX comp and looking around the web and, of course, this here forum, the usual problems of rubbing brakes etc appear to come up with disc brakes.

Never having had discs before, how easy are adjustments and repairs?

cheers

Adjustment is dead easy, and repairs are very few and far between (if at all)

Usual issues with disc brakes and noise from rubbing are easy fix as a rule.

check disc is true ,align caliper so pads are even distance from disc.

some use the loosen the caliper bolts and apply brake tighten bolt method which usually works.
but centralizing the caliper and then letting the pads self adjust is my prefered way as the pistons will be ballanced and you will get better braking as a rule..
Lots of how too's on you tube, also park tool is a good site for bike things and how too's

I ditched my BB5 disc set up on my CX team but to be fair they had done many miles over the last 3 years.
I now have a TRP Hy/Rd setup which is a vast improvement over the BB5s and are as good as the XTR brakes that were fitted to my GT.
