I am going to be needing new pads for my Tektro IO calipers and was wondering if any of you had any advice on buying a decent quality set. I have no idea what's in but the ones in a rear are really poor, hardly slowing me at all and squeal like mad. Whatevers in the front work quite well but I'm sure should be better so I'm a little wary of buying rubbish!

Thanks in advance for your advice!

It sounds like the pads you have in may be contaminated. Try putting them in the dishwasher, and cleaning your rotors with disc brake cleaner.

Thanks for the advice guy's. I have seen alsorts of different ones such as sintered and different makes like EBC greens and golds etc and wondered if any of these are recommended over the others

I've recently stocked up on spares from Bikefridge, an e-bay shop, and have opted for sintered all round. Some claim sintered are too noisy, mine have been fine, and that sintered wear the rotors too fast, but I consider a rotor to be an expendable item, one of the reasons for moving to disc brakes. Sintered are generally held to last longer and that's a priority for me. But then I don't have expensive rotors that I want to minimise wear on.

I'm not bothered about rotor wear either, I'm more interested in having brakes that work well. I'll check out Bikefridge and see what they have. Thanks Mac
