I have decided that I am doing my xmas shopping tonight ;) and am looking at getting a digital photo frame for my sister as she is a nightmare to get anything for and I think/hope she will get some use from one of these.

However I know very little (or nothing) about these, from looking at some webpages the price seems to range from £30 to £"silly money". I am looking at the £30 end of the range!!

Anyone got any suggestions about what is a good "entry level" one or any features that one I get should or should not have.

'Which' tested a few and found they were all bad in different ways. I was thinking of getting our elderly folks one, so it has to be v.simple to use

Remember they don't come with SD cards so you'll have to factor in that cost ( she may well have one in her digital camera but that would involve her taking it out to pout it in frame every time she wants to see the pics - pointless)

may I suggest you snap up one of these f'ing quickly - I've got one and they are worth the £90 rrp so for £30 it's a bargain.

Good luck

Thanks for that, just ordered the one from Play ;)

I have got about 3 SD cards so I am going to load one of them with some photos before I give it to her.

I have a SD card reader in my laptop so I am hoping that I can use that to put the photos on it... if not I will be back on here asking for help again

SD cards are easy to up load to. The computer just recognises it as another 'drive' in the same way as a memory stick and so you just drag and drop the images onto it.

look on ebay for an sd card reader. they should be cheap as chips, and come with a drive if you're on windows (macs don't need one). i know on a mac that the card shows as a disk when the camera's plugged in (saving you from needing a card reader), don't know about in windows though.

Got the photo frame today and have loaded a few photos onto it to test it out and VERY impressed.

Really easy to use, put the SD card in, press the play button on the frame twice and the slide show started. Picture quality seems fine.
