Differences between the allez 16 2010 and the 2011 version?

The look to have made the 2011 model a little lower geared (hill friendly) through fitting a larger cassette; that change can be made a lot cheaper than £170 if you need it. The other change are the wheels AlexS500 in 2010, Mavic CXP22 in 2011. I don't know about they particular models but IME Mavic rims are far superior than Alex. It your choice though and probably depend what you are wanting to do with it whether the small changes are worth it.

Yeah, due to starting out I am not sure that I will notice these differences yet? I am also looking at the Claud Butler range of bikes? Opinions on that range? And any other brands I should consider?

Thanks, Brad

The only difference you'd notice straight off is the lower gearing for hill climbing (if you live in a hilly area) but you can make that change to the 2010 model a lot cheaper if you find you need it.
I would lump Spesh/Trek/Giant in similar brackets you might want to consider them.

My other favourite is Bianchi; you might want to consider a Via Nirone.

I've got a 2010 Allez, and I love it!

Doesn't half shift, and I manage the hills reasonably well, bearing in mind I live in Sheffield...
