Well one year after learning how to ride a bike, I did my first 10 TT

I found it really hard going, alot tougher than I thought.

Managed a time of 28.45

Least it was a PB for me lol

Well done Jane For someone who was afraid to cycle on road a year ago to a sub 29min 10TT'er, amazing :bravo:

Congratulations Jane! :wahhey:
That's an average of 21 mph  (if I've calculated correctly)
I bet you are scaring the guys at the club even more now :becool:

I'm tempted to get myself along to one of these TT's in Cliesh one evening, I'll make a 'Go Jane' sign and everything!!!

Well done again, Jane!

Thanks everyone, it seems like yesterday indeed, I was too wobbly to ride on the roads and I went everywhere on the footpaths

I don't think I will be scaring the guys at the club quite yet Telemark, but they are a great bunch and very encouraging to me.

However that TT is behind me now, it is the next one, I need to improve on :bicycle:

Well done Jane, that is quite an achievement from your riding a year ago and the time you've posted will make a lot of us envious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very good time for a first attempt, you'll find the minutes peel off quickly as you learn to pace yourself and get fitter. Worth getting into road racing as that improves your fitness and bike handling no end and is more enjoyable too.

Jane, you are given a mention in the Glasgow Herald today
Sports section cycling results - a certain J Smart is listed in third place, you didn't tell us that :bravo: , did you get a prize?
Either the paper or you got the time wrong ... 26:45!

I can keep the paper for you, if you haven't got it yourself and want a souvenir :wahhey: :wahhey:

Telemark, i would love that to have been me, but sadly not, i am pretty sure in fact i know, I never got the time wrong.

Yes please keep the paper.

I have been looking on line for the "official" times and I cannot see them.

I came third from last, so there is another J Smart who is an excellent cyclist out there, it definately was not me lol

xx

 another female J Smart at the Dunfermile 10 mile TT, exactly 2 min faster than you, how likely is that?
Might have been 3rd last overall (out of how many? they only listed the top 3).
But that COULD still be 3rd woman! There aren't that many racing women out there, compared with the men anyway ...

Maybe the journalist has made a mistake and accidentally printed some future result ;)

I will definitely keep the paper, remind me to give it to you (or I can post it, if you PM me your address)

That is funny, there were four women, and yes I think i did come third out of the four of us but that time is confusing me.

Please keep the cutting I would love to see it.

Probably frame it to,albeit wrong as I won;t get that time for a while but do intend to at some point lol
