I cleaned and re-oiled my gears.
It's not much to most people but I felt like a pro, and the ride was sooo smooth afterwards...
The irregular clean and lube when the bike really needs it is so much more satisfying... you really do notice the difference. Regular maintenance is no fun.I cleaned and re-oiled my gears.

regular clean and lube = a lot of maintenanceOr you could just keep the first one clean and lubed which negates the need for a lot of the maintenance.
Depends how you look at it I guess. You have a good point in some respects. I was referring to requiring a lot less work coaxing components back to life or replacing prematurely.regular clean and lube = a lot of maintenance
Infrequent attention when it really needs it = little maintenance + a nice warm feeling when it's running smooth and silent again
