From the UCI website;
"Where a suspension of two years or more is imposed on a member of a team registered
with the UCI, the amount of the fine shall be equal to the net annual income from cycling
that the
License-Holder normally was entitled to for the whole year in which the anti-doping

violation occurred"

I should imagine Di Luca's net income was at least 140,000 Euros to be honest.

Sorry, but I have no sympathy for him.

Oh I've no sympathy, I was just surprised by the fine.

I must say so was I, and I was pleasantly surprised. :laugh:

These guys earn a fortune when you consider sponsorshp/endorsments and they're cheating

I'm glad he's done this; he'll get told to stick it up his arse by the CAS and he'll end up paying more in legal costs.

Have they still got the 4 year ban for pro-tour teams - I've lost touch a bit

I agree seeing either in a pro race would put me off it, (especially Ricco as he was such an obvious fraud. I think Basso maybe got a little influenced by "Mr 60%") as his sudden improvement came when he went to CSC.

I would add for Admin's sake, the above opinions are purely my own and not cyclechat's :blush:
