England : Wiltshire Devizes Club?

Hi All,

Reckon I must be doing something wrong, because I cannot find anything in Devizes. Yet I keep seeing groups of riders around here?

There appears to be lots of clubs in Swindon though.

Anyone know of any in the Devizes area?

Chippenham and District Wheelers - serves Chippenham, Calne and a whole load of other small towns and villages in the area - over 400 members these days!

I'm in Devizes too. You could try SPAM (http://www.spambiking.co.uk/) or try asking at Bikes n Boards in town or Rob (mobile mechanic at http://www.finelytunedride.co.uk/ who is based near Devizes and would probably know). There's a bike event coming up in Devizes on Oct 6th, Rob will be there and you could ask some of the ride leaders if they're aware of any clubs covering the area http://www.cycledevizes.org.uk/. There's also a Cycle Devizes! group on fb, that might be worth a look. Sorry for all the links!

Thanks for the links. The only one I knew of was spam, but the web site is very poor.

Cycle Devizes seems very interesting.

What sort of cycling do you do? Road or off road?

Mainly road at the moment, on my Vita, though I'll probably do a bit more offroad once the nettles die back a bit. Roadwise I do 10-20 mile rides, typically around Coate/Etchilhampton/Horton/All Cannings/Chirton type areas.

Chippenham wheelers seems to be the largest around here. I sometimes see them in the Bowden hill area. I don't often get up to Devizes myself although I sometimes walk to Roundway Hill if the mood takes me. The towpath on the canal was in quite a state the last time I went between Melksham and Devizes.
