describe your voice

What does your voice sound like inside your head when you say stuff out loud?

Mine sounds like a mix of jim morrison the lizard king and hal the robot spaceship from 2001 a space odyssey.

When I hear it played back from recordings though, it sounds like david niven looking out a paris window, smoking a cigarette and suffering a fit of ennui.

I'm always surprised to hear that my voice sounds as gentle and soft as it does. Not effeminate but quiet and measured. I have this fear that I might sound quite aggressive and overly certain.

As to who - probably like Billy Crystal, with a different accent obviously, but thinking it's like Bruce Willis!

The juxtaposition of perceived agression and gentleness but not effeminateness could actually mean that you sound like kenneth williams in reality.

Um, no. I don't think so. Whilst there could be comic advantage to sounding like Kenneth Williams I can't honestly say that I have his whining, camp inflections. I could probably mimic them pretty well though!

I actually sound like I'm a crazed loony, jumping bewteen a loud deep drawl and a stupid screetchy whine.

I thought you came from bonj land i.e. yorkshire?

I thought most people on here came from from york, or yorkshire, or scotland.

Bonj is from Blackpool and after sitting on James Herriotts lap I moved to the other side. I've also been to Scotland if that helps confirm your theory.
