do you reckon I need to take a deraiilier hanger and a spare deraillier, I have everything else, just wondering how often these break, cheers chaps Im trying to have everything covered for my trip
A hanger is only little, and a very useful spare to have, so if you have a spare - take it along.
But a spare whole derailleur ... that's really, really risk averse. As long as your bike has been maintained well, then that's overkill. Unless the coasts in question are of a big continent, rather than the UK.

I have only been cycling 47 or so years and raced off road for at least 20 of those, I am yet to break a hanger, yet!. So you might be going overkill with even one of those.
I think I've only ever had to change 2 in about 100,000Km of cycling, funily enough one was a week ago. I got home by removing the rear mech and shortening the chin to run as a single speed...So I'd say no, but take a multitool with a chain tool. And maybe a list of bike shops on the way...just in case.
Just to join the chorus, it is more important that you load the kitchen sink on the back of the bike in case you need to wash your hands after replacing the broken hanger. Don't forget the hot water tank, you might get cold hands otherwise.
