deore middle chainring

Just had new chain and cassette fitted by lbs.I could have done it but it was quicker and easier for them to do it.
Its now jumping on the middle chain ring.Can it be done on the bike without removing the cranks?

It may be possible, but you will need to manoeuvre it over the pedal so it depends on what pedals you have - but it will be a lot easier just to remove it so that you can easily access the chain bolts.

Even so, I would advise removal of the crank to make the job easier (unless your crank is stripped and won't come off, or you don't have and are unwilling to spend £5 or so on a crank extractor)
