Hoy Shizuoka 000 vs B'twin Triban 540 FB.

Still new to cycling. Approx 9 months experience. Currently work for well known premium take away delivery company. Have used a Medium sized Giant Cypress FS for 7 months. Bought second hand (upcycled).

Looking for something lighter and more responsive as well as durable. Cycle over 30 hours per week. Possibly over 200 miles per week if busy.

Any other recommendations? Prefer 10.5kg or lighter. Max £500.

Pinnacle neon is interesting. Voodoo too heavy.

Have tried Fixie and single speed. I work in multiple zones and find gears useful as some areas are quite hilly.

Should point out I'm a fraction of inch under 6 ft. Been riding too small a frame with seat too low. Cypress weighs 15 kg before delivery box (attached to seat post) + back pack of bits + d lock + lights + phone GPS.

I'm buying new bike Tomorrow. Personally think the B'twin 540 flatbar is best choice. But still wonder if Hoy Shizuoka would be better suited as frame is cyclocross based hybrid.

Have you looked at the Whyte R7 range? New might be out of budget but plenty of used options. The single chain ring but geared Shoreditch worth a look (large size for your height)

Go testride your options. Btwin bikes have had a rep for weak wheels, might have improved lately

Yeah. Read quite a few remarks about the wheels. Am prepared to buy new wheels with strong axles in 3+ months time.

The Whyte Whitechapel 2015 seems good value at £400, 10.4 kg, hydro disc brakes.

Though Acera gearing seems weak.

Spokes and hubs a weakness by all accounts

Dk what's wrong with Acera
