How often and how after how many miles should one degrease , clean and lube the chain?

yes i was wondering about that.
Perhaps debates on the vexed issue of chain lubing are now in a separate semi-hidden area like NACAs in order to maintain forum peace and love.

(unless the mod meant this very thread - ie no clear answer)
