hi guys and gals, i currently have a 2014 defy 1 ML with a 90cm stem which i really like but there is a little person in my head screaming TARMAC to me,
so my question,
is the tarmac that much more aggressive than the defy and could i get them to ride roughly the same?
any advice would be helpful, Thanks in advance

OMG soon there will only be one bike in the world and everyone will have to ride it! Why not look further than Giant, Specialized, Trek and Cannondale?

In between here and there
You could slam your stem on the Giant to get a bit more aggressive. Cannot really tell from that angle but it looks like you have a full set of spacers on there. Look at the geonmtry from the Defy and compare to the Tarmac. If I recall the Tarmac still has quite a long head tube.

You could, but with your current 'relaxed' riding position, I can't really see the point in buying a race-focused bike. Unless your intention is to specifically get lower, something like a Defy Advanced (notwithstanding e-rider's comments above) would make more sense...

i think it's a carbon thing,
I love the defy advance range but don't like disc brakes from a previous experience when it locked up

I have a Tarmac ,mine isn't an aggressive position I find it in between both nice relaxed but can get down low if you like ,I have pics of the bike in posts of mine if you need to see the set up

i think i may treat myself to a wilier gtr as the geometry would poss suit me better than a tarmac as my hip replacement doesnt allow me to be in a racey postition
