Defy 3 groupset upgrade

Im thinking about updating the groupset on my 3 year old bike

currently it has a Sora 9 speed with tripe crank (FSA Omega)

im thinking about upgrading to 105 (can get one from Merlin cycles for around £380)

or should i go for SRAM and if so which set?

i would like to go to a compact rather than triple

any advice or comment i should know before i buy
