I'm slowly building up the new commuter frame for winter, and the brakes I have don't have enough drop. I'm using the DA7800 levers from an old road bike which have the older super SLR pull, i.e. they pull less cable. Shimano say it's not compatible with new super SLR calipers as you risk running out of lever travel brfore the brake is fully engaged.
Does anyone know if Tektro/TRP calipers would work (e.g. Tektro 737, TRP 957 etc.)?
Or if the danger is for people who can't/don't adjust pad-rim distance and not really an issue if you can do so?
