After countless hours of research, I've made my mind up, is to be the Claude Butler Legend 07 with mudguards and rear pannier carrier, or is it to be the 2010 Moongoose Crossway 350 disc, with no accesories!

Will be doing approx 10 miles per day on road and cyclepaths.

Your veiws most appreciated.

so you havenb't made up your mind really

i can only suggest buying something you can try, i recently test rode two flat bars i liked the look of (trek 7.5 and sirrus comp), they felt totally different. Didn't like the trek at all and went for the sirrus...

Hi Mike,

No not really and I'm getting more confused by the hour! I have rode the Mongoose and thought it rode well, but I can't find the Legend near and handy to test ride. Have you got any ideas?

I see your location is Kesgrave, well I'm only a stones throw from you. Any good bike shops in your area, apart from Cycleking and Halfords, as I'm not that keen to deal with.

I have a Claude Butler Explorer 400 which I use for commuting. Quite wide handlebars which took a few mins to get used to - but the frame is perfectly dimensioned for a shortass like me (only 5ft 6in & short legs). Very responsive around town and on country lanes and easily takes SKS mudguards (once you've deciphered the SKS instructions) and rear panniers. Only thing I've changed out is the pedals - but I ride with SPD's. Over 1000 miles now and no problems so far - just regular maintenance.

Having said that a bike is very personal - I went for a CB because I knew they suited me and my riding style.

Wolfy,

Three good shops in and around Ipswich. Elmys, pedal power (martlesham) and thomas's cycle centre where I got mine.

Elmys for orbea and bianchi
Pedal power stock Merida
Thomas's trek, giant and specialized

I'd suggest thomas's for a wider selection but all three I've found very helpful.

Not sure where you'd get a try on the claude!
