Hi, I am fairly new to this forum but have been keen on bikes a long time. Summer 2009 was when I got my first ever road bike for work and some light fitness rides . I made the mistake of not doing enough research into bike fitting and brought a small frame size (52) . Well, just over a year later and I have had enough of it and wish to sell . So here goes;
Its a Decathlon brand road bike, Sport 3, which is still on their website;
http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/sport-3-54-57-72884215/
size is 52cm
weight approx. 9.8kg
Power transmission / Propulsion : Carbon seat stays for better acceleration
Efficiency : Campagnolo 10-speed groupset for an efficient, precision drivetrain
Rigidity : Aluminium and carbon frame for superior efficiency
Guarantee: 5 years for the frame and the fork. 2 years for parts and labour.
Under detailed info;
'Composition Double butted 6061 T6 aluminium frame with high-modulus carbon seat stays. Carbon fork with aluminium steerer and integrated head tube. Campagnolo groupset. Campagnolo MIRAGE brake levers. Aluminium double pivot brake calipers. Campagnolo Mirage 10-speed rear derailleur. Campagnolo triple RACE front derailleur. Truvativ Elita chainset with triple chainring (50X39X30). 12x25 cassette. b'Twin flat 32 wheels and Hutchinson tyres and inner tubes. Velo saddle.'
My own description;
I would describe it in mint condition, with one or two minor cosmetic scuffs in the usual places. Its hardly been used, I would estimate under 150miles covered in just under 12 months at the most. I didnt use it during winter because I was too chicken . Plus my workplace is only 3 miles both ways, so it covered 6 miles total daily commute. I only worked like 3 or 4 days a week so it wasn't used much. I did try taking it out on longer rides when I had time, but found it far to difficult as it seemed too 'cramped' and inefficient a riding position to maintain for longer then 20mins. I thought this would improve, maybe it was just me, but after one year it hasnt. I am convinced the only way forwards is for me to get a larger size, (I am approx 5'10) .
I did try using aggresively raised stems and even added a stem raiser to it, and played around with the seat to no avail. In the end I just want it to go to a good home where it will be used as designed. Its a great road bike with most features expected on an expensive branded road bike. Even now from new the price hasnt gone down since I got it last year (£599), the original reciept is available for the new owner and the manufacturers garentee is still valid. It had its first service carried out at decathlon in the summer, no major issues reported, they didnt need to change anything. I have had to change the pedals to aluminium ones which are pictured as I didnt like the clipless pedals that came with the bike. Nothing else has been added or removed from the bike since new.
You can contact me on here or my own email, lqadir@hotmail.com. I would prefer a local sale as I dont want to post to some random location. I am based in East London and would be willing to meet buyer half way. I would prefer cash on collection. I am looking for around £425.
Thanks
Mo.
