Hi,

Im going to be replacing the wheels on my tricros, so will need the cassette swaping over.

I have never done it before so I dont know how much the tools are, how long it will take or any potential hazzards so I thought I will ask at Decathlon how much they charge, Its too late to call them today, so I wondered if anyone on here had the same job done, and how much did they charge.

Alternativley, if its just a case of buying a £5 tool I might give it a go.

You'll need a chainwhip and the correct lockring tool, probably looking at £20 ish for the tools. Its easy enough to do but you've got to shell out first
It only takes me 10 minutes to swap a cassette, so labour wise, it shouldnt cost that much.

If you are going to splash out on tools to do that job you may as well get a small tool kit , i have this ( i know you can probably get them cheaper )...

It has almost everything you need for jobs on your bike, add a cable cutter and you are all set !

If you shop around for parts you can save a lot of cash to recoup the cost of your tools quickly .

Cheers for the replies.

I think if its a fiver then I will use them this time, if its getting into double figures then I may as well get that toolkit, then Im prepared for nearly everything (except cable stuff)

Cheers for that, Ironically, I passed through your bit of the country yesterday! (you have much better views than we have in Walsall)

Too right
