Anyone catch it ? worth recording ? I shall likely be in the pub after the year's first audax.

I read the book by William Fotheringham (Put me back on my Bike) a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I felt he more or less got to the bottom of what did / didn't happen.

Will be interesting to compare.

I managed to get my hands on a recording.


It was worth watching to see the old footage of him riding. However, if you are interested in it then William Fotheringham's book (he is interviewed in the programme) gives a much more detailed explanation of what happened and a plausible conclusion as to why he died.

a very plausible conclusion. He got information (about the brandy) out of a former team member that didn't feature in that team member's talks to cycling clubs!
