Out yesterday, I didn't clip my cycle computer into its mount properly and it fell off into the road

Managed to retrieve it but display was blank. When I got home I had a closer look, tried refitting the battery, then replacing with a new battery but still no sign of life. I suspect that I may have cracked the circuit board of dislodged a wire or something.

I'm handy with a soldering iron and was hoping I could repair it myself, but the computer, a Sigma 906 looks as if it can't be easily disassembled without destroying the casing.

Does anyone know if these units can be stripped down?

Its a hell of a long shot, given that you've dropped it and therefore what i'm going to suggest is not connected, but...check the two wires as they enter the comuter base thats attatched to the handlebars. Mine corroded and snapped.
If thats the case, i can suggest a fix..

If all else fails, I have a spare Sigma 1200 if you want it. Probably a generation older than yours though, but it uses the same mounting etc.

Thanks for that Graham, but i'm gonna treat myself to a VDO as recommended in another thread  and thanks to others for your input...
