David Walsh given full SKY access

I knew this would happen. Kimmage wanted the same, but went about it all wrong. As soon as that happened I knew they would grant another respected Journo the works. Now if Walsh says he doesn't see anything suspicious, Kimmage will have to shut up else he's calling Walsh a liar. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall at Kimmage's house when he heard the news.... Nice play SKY.

I picked that up via Sky / Sunday Times websites as well; what was the timing, as didn't I read that apparently the offer was made to Walsh back in November?

The Kimmage article back in the summer reports on Wiggo's reaction during last year's tour (2012) to the doping gossips on Twitter and thrown into the mix during this article is the suggestion about him not being happy with Kimmage ruffling through his underpants in 2010, remembering that this was before the LA stuff really opened up:

I like Kimmange as a journo but I think he is seeing conspiracies where there aren't any in relation to Team Sky. This is understandable after what he's gone through, but you're right Loco, he is thrashing around like a ferret in a sack on twitter at the moment!

Just read the twitter posts, he's become the life and soul of the party now, bundle of laughs is old Paul .

Looks like he has a few supporters but also appears to be getting similar feedback to the recent discussion on here. He has confused a few people with quite who exactly he is having a dig at ... 'they' ... being an encompassing group of who knows who; perhaps he's on about the consistency and credibility of other journalists?

He, who I will avoid mentioning, has been dragged up again in the same sentence as Team Sky.

I also note John Dower (Director of A Year in Yellow) has entered the discussion pointing out his situation last year:

As people have mentioned in the past, Kimmage has done good for helping expose the truth, but more so Walsh. Now that Walsh has unrestricted access, Paul would be foolhardy to call David's skills as a Journalist or integrity into question. David seems a much more personable character (Although he's a dog with a bone if you cross him), so I think all on the SKY bus will be happy with this outcome. Paul is now becoming a bit of a joke, and is in danger of ruining the good credit he's built up. Slinging mud in the hopes some of it sticks is not going to endear you to anyone, especially if your stated aim is to get embedded with the very same team you're slagging off.

I'm happy that someone of Walsh's pedigree has this access, I imagine Kimmage's much more edgy personality is an issue for SKY and I reckon he should concentrate his efforts on the UCI.

I'm prepared to attend to Kimmage's points for now. From his point of view, SKY did similar before and reneged later, making him suspicious. It is worth him making that point for now - as the season progresses, let's hope Walsh's access persists, transparency is increased and nothing appears dodgy.

Yes in particular for Sir Brad. The words "no love lost" understate it a touch.

Kimmage has nothing positve to say, and does not seem to be able to acceprt he has not been given the access he thinks he deserves. maybe that's because he is good at upsetting people at crucial moments, and seeing things that are not there to suit his need to file copy as a freelance. Good news is not news to him, he's becoming a caricature of himself.
I did think he was doing a job with the LA work, but now, credibility lost, he is floudering about in wild accusations. What a sad case.
