Anyone doing the Dave Lloyd Mega?! Did the 70 last year, hoping to do the 100 this year....Will have to make a decision as to whether to go to Bala on the day. I believe the finish is at the top of the Pen Barras this year, just wondering how much energy im going to have left to cycle back to the school after the finish...hope theyve got some energy gels to give away at the finish!

I'm entered in the longest route (which I did last year) but am most likely gonna give it a miss. I don't have any way of getting there (bar adding a 40 mile roundtrip onto the 150!) and I've definitely not got the legs for a decent time. I'm also waiting on a new seatpost (saddle angle won't hold) which I wont have a chance to try out before hand.
It's a shame as I really enjoyed it last year:sad:
Good luck!

I'll be there doing the long route. I've a free pass from Mrs JP to stay over night the night before so I don't have to travel at some dark and ungodly hour on the day - my worry is driving home after...what if I stop at the services for a wizz and then can't get back in the car...bloody hell, what if I can't work the clutch, accelerator and break?????????/

Maybe don't pack your tent away until after you finish, then if necessary you can go straight to sleep and get up early Monday morning!!

Well I was there, did it, the full 150 miles, finished dead last and had a thoroughly brilliant time and will be doing it again next year to see if I can finish not quite dead last lol

Brilliant event, well organized, great feed stops, penty of free gels and powders, loads of food, breakfast thrown in too.

Only gripe - £40 this cost me and at the finish I got a nasty little till receipt showing my split times and an even nastier A5 certificate that I have to fill in myself - come on guys, I have paid less to enter triathlon events and come away with goody bags and medals just for turning up and meandering round never mind making an effort. A tshirt proclaiming that I had completed the mega would have been nice but hey ho...credit crunch and all that I suppose.

Oh...all that riding, 12 actual hours in the saddle and not an ache to speak of, but ****ing hell was I in agony with the midge bites between the bottom of my shorts and top of my socks!

Congratulations on finishing it, but next time remember to use Avon So Soft! ;)

Well done, I have hopes that by next year I'll will be fit enough to enter some sportives again, although that is by none means a certainty.
