I do it all the time and can recommend it to anyone. Try it, you'll love it. I run, cycle and go to the gym. This also means less strain on the body than just doing one of those sports more frequently to the exclusion of the others. It also means things like tri-athlons and duathlons become comparatively easier.

When I was in my late teens I went to a party in a nurses hall of residence. Two nurses talked me into getting dressed up like a woman, dress the lot, then they hid my clothes!

Didn't like it. Ended up wandering around the halls asking every random I met if they knew where my clothes were. Eventually someone did and got back to my male self.

However I can see how some people might get a buzz out of it. In a kinky sort of way.

Nothing wrong with drag, or cross-dressing. Quite a lot of people do it just for fun, or to put on shows, or for dares, or just because they feel more comfortable in the clothes.

My old university had a strong tradition of dressing up. In fact anything short of full Rocky Horror style drag was seen as quite a poor effort. So I got myself some Immac/Veet, false eyelashes, false nails, a great wig and the obligatory feather boa... the works. All good fun (well not the false nails, but that's another story...).

Three years later I moved to a new university. My department held a fancy dress welcome do. Without hesitation I got dragged up to meet my fellow PhD students and faculty. Turned out no one else bothered with more than the odd pair of devil horns. Thankfully I was fairly unrecognisable in drag.

Five years later it still makes me cringe.
