Damp smell wet cycling shoes cure?

I cycled 50 miles on Saturday in the pouring rain and I was soaked! I was cleaning all my gear last night and my lovely Shimano cycling shoes is starting to smell due to the damp rain! I've only had them for a couple of months so they are still pretty new, but what's the best way to get rid of the damp smell? I've taken the insoles out and they are fine but inside the shoe smells a bit. Was thinking of rubbing some dry antibacterial hand wash into them and see if it helps and maybe use some odoureater spray as well. Does anyone have any tips?

Grangers works pretty well. One bottle lasts for ages.
I assume you stuff the wet shoes with newspaper when you get home.

Odour eaters?

Got them in my commuting shoes. No pong .

I also bung mine in the washing machine from time to time.
