Been good all week, longer commutes in and back home, 12-14 miles over hills.
Went to bed early-ish last night and body needed the sleep, had a nice "lie-in" and straight to work at 9 instead of leaving at 7-ins to get to work at 8-15 ish
Thought of going straight home but fancied a curry for tea so figured I'd work it off with a ride out - headed out to Ladybower, through Hathersage and I still felt like I wasn't ready to go straight home...had promised myself I would this year commute to or from work (3 miles in a straight line, central Sheffield to South side of the city) via Bakewell.
Looked at the sign to Grindleford and Bakewell from Hathersage and as I began to pull out to turn right....
...I pictured my new spare inner tube (fitted the spare earlier this week) sitting happily on the sideboard at home.
Wasn't going to risk an unfixable flat at dusk in Bakewell....drat! I was ready for that challenge too - the acquisition of a budget £14 80mm stem to replace the 100mm has made a marked difference this week to my comfort and also this thing that is becoming an addiction

No..I never did in the end..after a ride I didn't fancy anything heavy and oily
