damit - have all new road bikes got 1 1/8 steerers and oversize bars?!?!?!

gggrrrrrrr.......

trying to find a stem for 1 inch steerer road bike with 1 inch bars is proving to be very difficult indeed. almost all stems are mountain bike steerer size - 1 1/8 inch and seem to be for oversize bars 31.8 mm or so.


grrrrrr............ where have the 1 inch ones gone

I just use a shim for the steerer, but yes, I agree about the proliferation of 31.8mm bars...

a shim is a bit of a bodge though.

we all know that black is faster, look at L Hamilton, well last year anyways .

more likely black goes with any other colour, whereas pink for example does not.

a shim isnt a bodge and they work very well, just dont shim the handlebar clamp, stem clamps are fine
