damaged cards

I have recently started cycling to work and in the last week both of my bankcards have stopped working. My wallet is in my pocket when I ride. Coincidence or are they being affected by the (fairly constant, still a bit unfit) movement of the peddling? Anybody else suffered this or is it just me ?

Always carry wallet with cards in my pocket never had a prob, although the cash machine did swallow it for no reason.

I only had one fo them for a month ! Just thought , did anybody see the muthbusters episode with the elecric eel skin wallet ? I think it was busted though .

Think it's a coincidence to be honest. I've never had anything go AWOL on me (Apart from my wireless computer and that was the front light making it read wrong).

You are riding too fast. The earth has a magnetic field, and if you cross it too quickly, the change in flux re-magnetises the brown strip on the back.

That was Mythbusted too They had them tied to large electromagnets of varying strengths, none of the affected the bank card at all.

Thats strange, my bank card is in my pocket for most rides, and has been for very many years, I've yet to have any problems with them.

Check your bank accounts, your missus might have emptied them.

Done 100' of miles with my debit card and mobile (and emergency fiver) all cling wrapped together and the card still works every time!

Gotta be the speed thing creating your own magnetic field
