Anyone watching it? It's on French tele quite a bit.

It's being held in Argentina & Chile at the moment after the cancellation of the usual Paris-Dakar last year due to safety concerns.

I'm no petrol head but I have to admit that there is something so completely bonkers about it (Clarkson et all would approve!) that I find it bizarrely entertaining. I personally like the motorbikes, but the trucks category is compelling for it's sheer lunacy.

(Btw, google it if you don't know what I' talking about)

Yep been recording the twice daily reports on eurosport HD, been really good. Pity the BMW driver (not even going to and spell his name) got himself discalified as it was getting a good race between him and sainz.

Absolutely love it - not too sure we should be admitting liking any form of motorsport on here though - the speed police might be lurking

I know what you mean. I'm trying to convince myself that it's the self reliance aspect of it (as in audax) that appeals to me... but, as I say, it's really the lunacy that appeals. That said, the motorcyclists would find it physically demanding - looks like damned hard work!

My French in laws are obsessed by the 'Paris - Dakar'. Reportage in the UK is a bit odd but Eurosport manage a couple of emissions per day.

For me, despite the obvious skills and endurance on the road, it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boring.
