Hello

can someone please recommend a good tyre for my cyclocross?

Im going to use it for training on country roads and a race made up of 48m road / 16m off road - singletrack / 17m road.

What tyres would you recommend? My current tyres are Schwalbe Rocket Ron Kevlar 33-622 but on the wall of the tyre it says 28x1.30

Thank you

Go to Spa Cycles in Harrogate - they have a sale on Schwalbe tyres at the moment. ( http://www.spacycles.co.uk/products.php?plid=m2b0s206p0 )
I've just bought a pair of Schwalbe CX Comp 700x35's for my CX. £9 each (plus £2 each postage). Bargain!
I went for the Comp's as I do a lot of road cycling on my CX and the additional side tread is enough for me. They also sell the Pros if you want all over tread.

Something like the Sammy Slick should be ideal for your purpose. The Schwalbe CX are a heavier more budget type tyre, so it really depends on how competitive you want to get about it.

A lot depends on how muddy or loose surfaced the off-road section of your competition will be. You'll lose more time in muddy off-road with slick tyres, than you will gain on the road. If muddy/loose the rocket rons are a good choice, despite your poor experience with them.

Thank you guys, at the risk to show my noobyness factor  I found that most tyres are either 32 or 35. Is that correct that I could order either of those? I got confused when I read the 28x1.3 on the wall of my tyres.

I had noticed the Sammy and the Comp, thanks for those suggestions

What do you think about these
SCHWALBE Marathon Plus ATB London?

I just noticed that the CX Comp and Sammy both only available in 35" I think this is too big?? :-(

so I can fit anything between 30 to 35 without a problem?
Without knowing what type of rim you have it's hard to exactly - but your current tyres are 28 x 1.3's.
Mine have just turned up at work and the 700x35mm's are 28 x 1.35's - so as there's only 5 hundreths of an inch difference I'd say you'll be fine.

Which one s did you get?

I am not sure if you're asking me, but I have Rocket Rons as my only cross clinchers. The rest of my cross tyres are all tubulars, one set of FMB supermuds, Tufo mud tyre and Tufo diamond file.

Oh and my pub bike has Schwalbe CX Pro clinchers on it. In 26''.
