Heading off to Derby on Saturday with miniBrumJim, as he is taking part in the U14 Open category at his first national series.

Reputation for mud, so we will have lots of water, jet wash (hopefully with the hose this time) and a spare bike. And a towel for afterwards. Yes, I'm his pit crew for the day.

We had lots of rain from Sunday to Wednesday in the East Mids but today and until Sat should be dry according to the experts at the BBC🤣 but I doubt it will have dried out if the course is known for mud .

Hardly a spot of mud, the sun shone and it was almost warm.

A crash on the start line, and a red flag on the first corner. My son got caught up, with a spot of blood on his knee and a wonderful chain tat on his elbow told a bit of his story.
