Cyclist seriously injured in fall near Stanhope, Co. Durham

Looks like this guy was lucky to be discovered by an off-duty paramedic. Amazing journey time as well in the helicopter; 9 minutes from Stanhope to the RVI hospital Newcastle. Looks like he fell off on a steep descent.

thoughts are with him for a speedy recovery.

See I was around that area that day and there must have been a motorbike rally on, I've never seen such a large group of idiots, whizzing on the wrong side of the road and coming round blind bends on the opposite side ect, literally hundreds of them it really wouldn't surprise me of the poor fella had to swerve to avoid them as I was doing allday.
